Vision and Purpose

The ASIMOV Protocol is building a reliable decentralized intelligence network accessible to all. The community comprises experts, innovators, and visionaries who recognize that artificial intelligence is poised to become the connective tissue of modern society. Our mission is to ensure that this transformative technology evolves safely and inclusively.

At its core, the ASIMOV Protocol establishes an economic framework for the "economics of intelligence," incentivizing collaboration and resilience among diverse participants. This foundation aims to foster trustworthy intelligence by enabling decentralized technology that prioritizes security, transparency, and economic viability.

Key Objectives

  1. Decentralized Knowledge: Provide secure mechanisms for publishing, storing, and retrieving data.
  2. Economic Resilience: Incentivize collaboration and quality contributions through $ASV token-based rewards.
  3. Trustworthy Intelligence: Establish an adaptive, transparent, and tamper-proof AI infrastructure.

Ecosystem Overview

The ASIMOV Protocol ecosystem comprises four primary participant roles, each designed to ensure security, performance, and fairness through aligned economic incentives:

1. Users

Users leverage the ASIMOV Protocol as a utility for accessing trustworthy knowledge and contributing to the data ecosystem. They benefit from secure access to verified and monetizable data streams.

  • Publishers:
    • Users can publish their own data, making it available on-chain.
    • A registration fee, denominated in $ASIMOV, covers network compute and storage costs.
+ Publication Fee to Registry Smart Contract (Not obligatory) -> Foundation
      * Registration -> Registry Smart Contract for storage (against spam)
    • Publishers may monetize their datasets by setting access token fees. These fees are dynamically calculated based on query usage and data complexity, ensuring fairness and incentivizing quality.
  • Consumers:
    • Users can request adaptive knowledge retrieval through queries of varying complexity.
    • Retrieval fees depend on the volume of data and computation required to fulfill the request, with more complex queries incurring higher costs.

2. Infrastructure Providers

Infrastructure participants secure and maintain the protocol’s operations. They perform essential functions such as indexing, validating, and query processing, ensuring the system remains robust and performant.

  • Indexers:
    • Indexers run nodes to index published data and execute consumer queries.
    • How: decentralised database as a service by (tracking mutations of data changes)
    • They receive $ASIMOV tokens as incentives for performing compute-intensive compute for query execution.
  • Validators:
    • Validators ensure indexers meet performance and accuracy standards.
    • They achieve this by pinging and querying indexers for fast, accurate (challenges) responses.
    • Validators are rewarded for their compute efforts and compensated further if they identify misbehaving indexers.

Validation Framework

The ASIMOV Protocol aims to address multiple facets of validation to ensure the reliability and quality of its knowledge ecosystem:

  1. Data Integrity:
    • Ensures that data remains untampered with once it has been inserted into the protocol. Immutable storage mechanisms guarantee that data integrity is preserved.
  2. Data Accuracy:
    • Validates that the data corresponds accurately to external off-chain references. This ensures that the information published within the protocol is both reliable and verifiable.
  3. Content Validity:
    • Assesses the logical coherence, contextual consistency, and overall sensibility of the knowledge. This layer of validation ensures that the knowledge aligns with logical and contextual expectations, fostering trust in its utility.

These validation stages will be implemented progressively during the protocol’s development. The first stage, focusing on data integrity, is planned to be deployed by the Token Generation Event (TGE).

Focus Areas

The focus areas represent key research and development domains within the ASIMOV Protocol’s roadmap to achieve its broader purpose. These areas will be staged and developed incrementally over time, ensuring alignment with the protocol’s vision:

  1. Perception: Enables entities to sense, capture and interpret environmental information.
  2. Learning: Facilitates the acquisition of new knowledge through data and experience.
  3. Decision-Making: Supports analyzing information to select optimal actions.
  4. Creativity: Encourages the generation of novel ideas and solutions.
  5. Interaction: Enhances communication and collaboration with other entities.
  6. Self-Reflection: Develops evaluation and error-detection mechanisms.
  7. Autonomy: Ensures independent operation with resilience to disruptions.
  8. Emotional Intelligence: Integrates understanding and response to emotional cues.
  9. Knowledge Representation: Structures and retrieves information effectively.
  10. Contextual Awareness: Adapts behavior to situational and environmental needs.
  11. Ethics and Morality: Embeds adherence to ethical guidelines.
  12. Long-Term Memory: Builds capabilities to retain and evolve knowledge over time.

Each focus area contributes to the greater goal of creating intelligent, trustworthy entities. Initial phases will concentrate on foundational capabilities such as perception, learning, and decision-making, while advanced features like emotional intelligence and ethics will be integrated in subsequent stages.

Economic Model

The ASIMOV Protocol employs $ASV, its native utility token, as the foundation for economic incentives and transactions. Key features of the economic model include:

  • Publication Fees: Covering gas costs for compute and storage, publication fees ensure data contributors bear a fair cost for utilizing the network’s infrastructure.
  • Access Token Fees: Allow publishers to monetize their datasets, with charges calculated dynamically based on query volume and complexity.
  • Retrieval Fees: Consumers pay for data retrieval, ensuring fair compensation for infrastructure providers and incentivizing high-quality query processing.
  • Infrastructure Incentives: Indexers and validators earn $ASV rewards for securing the protocol and maintaining operational efficiency.

Technical Framework

Decentralized Knowledge Management

The ASIMOV Protocol secures the knowledge ecosystem through the following mechanisms:

  • On-Chain Data Publishing: Immutable data storage ensures trust and transparency.
  • Adaptive Retrieval Systems: Intelligent query processing adapts to consumer needs while maintaining cost efficiency.

Performance AssuranceValidators monitor infrastructure performance to:

  • Detect and penalize inefficient or malicious behaviors.
  • Reward accurate and efficient indexers.

Scalability and Resilience

  • The protocol’s design accommodates increasing data complexity and query demands without compromising speed or accuracy.
  • Economic incentives promote sustained participation and ecosystem growth.

Roadmap

Phase 1: Knowledge Foundation

  • Develop core features for data publication, storage, and retrieval.
